Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules for Apparel and Footwear, version 3.1

The Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules for Apparel and Footwear, version 3.1, are a voluntary calculation method approved on 14 May 2025. They create no legal obligation for companies or Member States. They matter because the ESPR textile delegated act is expected to rely on PEF-aligned footprint indicators, and a brand making an environmental claim may be asked to substantiate it this way.

The underlying EF 3.1 dataset was valid until 31 December 2025 and EF 4.0 is still in development, so check the data position before use.
