Farm to Fork Strategy

Not binding Binds no one directly Does not reach SMEs
In short

The Farm to Fork Strategy is a Commission Communication from May 2020 setting out food policy aims. It creates no legal duty on anyone, neither companies nor Member States, and no small food business needs to act because of it. Its 2020 to 2024 action plan is complete or has lapsed, and the planned framework law on sustainable food systems was never tabled.

The Strategy has been overtaken in practice by A Vision for Agriculture and Food, COM(2025) 75, published in February 2025.
