In force Binds companies directly Reaches SMEs
In short

A regulation that binds manufacturers, importers and authorised representatives directly. Since 19 July 2026 large enterprises may not destroy unsold apparel, clothing accessories and footwear, and they must disclose the unsold consumer products they discard; medium-sized companies follow from 19 July 2030, while small and micro companies are exempt from both duties. Product rules adopted later under the regulation apply by product, not company size, so they will reach small companies too.

The details and format of the disclosure of discarded unsold products apply from 2 March 2027.
