Restriction on nonylphenol ethoxylates in textile articles (REACH Annex XVII entry 46a)
In short
No textile article that can reasonably be expected to be washed in water during its normal life may be placed on the EU market with nonylphenol ethoxylates at or above 0.01% by weight, measured on the article or on each part of it. A textile article is anything at least 80% textile fibre by weight. The rule binds companies directly, has applied since 3 February 2021, and in practice the exposure sits mainly with importers of fabric and garments.
