Food Information to Consumers Regulation (consolidated)
In short
The Food Information to Consumers Regulation binds food business operators directly and applies to every pack a small food producer puts on the shelf. It has applied since 13 December 2014, and the mandatory nutrition declaration since 13 December 2016. Revisions to front-of-pack nutrition labelling, date marking and origin labelling were announced under the Farm to Fork Strategy.
As at 30 September 2026 no legislative proposal amending the Regulation had been confirmed as tabled.
