Ecodesign for Sustainable Products and Energy Labelling Working Plan 2025-2030

Not binding Binds no one directly Does not reach SMEs
In short

This Commission planning document binds nobody. It names six priority product groups for ecodesign rules, namely textiles, furniture, mattresses, tyres, iron and steel, and aluminium, and sets their order. For textile firms its value is planning: digital product passport, durability, repairability and recycled-content requirements for apparel are expected to be adopted in 2027, with an implementation period after that, so they are not a 2026 problem.

All dates are indicative; the implementation period after the textiles act is expected to be at least 18 months, and the plan is reviewed in 2028.

Where it sits

Ecodesign and product passports, Ecodesign & DPP. Fields: Cross-sector, Textiles.
