Food Contact Materials Framework Regulation (consolidated)

The Food Contact Materials Framework Regulation binds business operators directly. Its core company duties are the general safety of materials that touch food, labelling, a written Declaration of Compliance, and traceability one step up and one step down the supply chain. For a small food packer, the Declaration of Compliance is the document customers and inspectors ask for most often, and traceability is routinely audited.

A revision has long been announced, but no Commission proposal had been tabled as at 30 September 2026.
